A part of my heart wants to say, “Bomb Croatia!” but that would bring disgrace to the wonderful team Gareth Southgate has put together: the TRUE Gentlemen footballers. They have proven more than any team in this World Cup that it is truly a beautiful game that can be played FAIRLY and HONESTLY (as can be seen by the lack of yellow cards!) It’s just a shame most of the other teams are still quite happy to use dirty tricks and bad play to win their matches (or try!)
I’ve been disgusted by the un-gentlemanly play of many of the teams we’ve (and other teams have) faced and the terrible refereeing – I thought VAR was supposed to stop referee-blindness?!
I can only assume that the Croatian Mafia held the ref’s family captive and the family members of the VAR officials. England more than any other team deserve to be playing France in the final. You may say it’s sour grapes, but if you look at the foul-play of Croatia, they didn’t deserve to get to extra time, and they got away very lightly.
All I can say (and as an Englishman to be backing France is a tough frog leg to swallow!) is I really hope the referee for the final has managed to free his wife and children and has then in the witness protection program, and that the folks in the VAR studio aren’t pissed and blind.
I for one – along with millions of other England Fans – am very happy with how our new squad have played, and will continue chanting my support:
Have you recovered from Tuesday’s game yet? Forget about nail-biting, I have no fingers left…!!! But we made it through and Saturday is only days away for the Quarter Final match with Sweden – the land of the vegetable nobody eats, and cars people don’t brag about in public.
