#ENG – The True GENTLEMEN Footballers

A part of my heart wants to say, “Bomb Croatia!” but that would bring disgrace to the wonderful team Gareth Southgate has put together: the TRUE Gentlemen footballers. They have proven more than any team in this World Cup that it is truly a beautiful game that can be played FAIRLY and HONESTLY (as can be seen by the lack of yellow cards!) It’s just a shame most of the other teams are still quite happy to use dirty tricks and bad play to win their matches (or try!)

I’ve been disgusted by the un-gentlemanly play of many of the teams we’ve (and other teams have) faced and the terrible refereeing – I thought VAR was supposed to stop referee-blindness?!

I can only assume that the Croatian Mafia held the ref’s family captive and the family members of the VAR officials. England more than any other team deserve to be playing France in the final. You may say it’s sour grapes, but if you look at the foul-play of Croatia, they didn’t deserve to get to extra time, and they got away very lightly.

All I can say (and as an Englishman to be backing France is a tough frog leg to swallow!) is I really hope the referee for the final has managed to free his wife and children and has then in the witness protection program, and that the folks in the VAR studio aren’t pissed and blind.

I for one – along with millions of other England Fans – am very happy with how our new squad have played, and will continue chanting my support:

Extremely pleased to see decorum back in the game (unlike the previous games against lower-class countries, which looked more like wrestling matches!) If I was excited about the young England team at the start, I’m more excited then ever… Now that we are headed into the semis against – my prediction, Croatia – it actually might be coming home this year…

Again, what a tremendous job by all our chanting England fans in the stands out in Russia…

Have you recovered from Tuesday’s game yet? Forget about nail-biting, I have no fingers left…!!! But we made it through and Saturday is only days away for the Quarter Final match with Sweden – the land of the vegetable nobody eats, and cars people don’t brag about in public.

Personally I think we are already through to the hard-earned semis…! Ooer!? When was the last time England had a semi…? I only think about semis when it’s the World Cup…!

Perhaps I should eat more Swedes… uh-o! Now it’s just getting silly innuendo time…!

Ahead of Mr. President Donald Julian William Horatio Valerie Trump’s official visit to the UK to be endorsed by HRH The Queen on July 13th this year, it has been unofficially confirmed that Sir Mr. Boris Johnson has kindly offered to act as a stunt double in case of a possible assassination attempt on the Mr. President’s life.

As you can see from the photographs below, the resemblance is uncanny apart from their choice in ties, which hopefully will be colour co-ordinated on the day of the Mr. President’s arrival.

In an amazing turn of events, Mr. President Donald Eugene Mary Washington Trump has flexed his executive powers at long last and declared that ALL Americans MUST henceforth refer to the ‘beautiful game’ as FOOTBALL, or The Beautiful Game (which most of them won’t be able to pronounce!) rather than soccer, AND even more amazingly has endorsed CHANT LIKE AN ENGLISH FAN by the UK band The Laddz as his official unofficial World Cup Song for England…! All disclosed using sign language at a private conference in a lavatory in the White House where only he attended.

How do we know this? Our intrepid ‘journalist on the spot’ for #FakeNews dot com, Italian Papa Razzi – not to be confused with Papa John’s Pizza – cleverly disguised himself as a turd and hid in one of the latrines for four days hoping for a scoop. And what a scoop he got!

Not only that, but it is also alleged – we can’t be certain as the recording was a bit muffled due to flatulence – however Papa Razzi clearly heard that if Brussels Belgium win on Thursday, Nukes could be involved (but only in a tactical, strike-first-ask-questions-later manner)

Mad Ant’s England Car – share YOUR pic!

FINALLY… more people are starting to deck out their houses and cars with England flags! So we thought we’d share a pic of Mad Ant’s car…

He’s not gone overboard this year, although he was going to get the whole car resprayed as an England flag – and might still do, if England win the World Cup! – but he checked the band’s royalty statement and there wasn’t enough dosh for a splosh!

Yes we know it’s a froggy-car (and we take the piss out of him for it!) but what affordable English cars are there out there that won’t break down?

He’ll be driving down to Cornwall from London today, so if you see his car (and it might have some more ‘bling’ on it) give him a honk and a wave!

#WorldCupRussia2018: How Far Can England Go?

After an amazing match between England and Panama – a crushing result of 6 – 1 at full-time, there’s no prizes for guessing what the headlines will be in the UK press. But the real question to ask, with the England squad on fire, is how far can they go this year?

It’s my hope now that we have two back-to-back successes under our belt (and this writer is so hopeful of a hat-trick on Thursday against Belgium he’s rolled over his winnings from today and bet on it!) that the British public will start to more actively get behind our squad.

If ever there was a time to feel nationalistic, forget about all the Brexit nonsense, wave the flag, and take a day off work to watch, it’s the World Cup. Our fine boys are doing us proud – better than most people have obviously expected – the least we can do is get behind them and get ‘Chanting’!

Tremendous play by the England squad. A blinding first half ending in 5 – 0 to England. I had high hopes for an equally intense second half, but was disappointed by the play of the substitutes who didn’t really perform as strongly as the players they had replaced. Very sloppy giving away the goal to Panama, but they deserved something for sticking with it and not quitting under the pressure of a far superior team.

My prize goes to the referee who was spot on at penalizing the dirty tactics by the opposition – refreshing to actually see a ref that can do his job for once!

High hopes for Thursday’s match against Belgium…
